Door mirror compatibility
Hi -
I am new to the Forum. I hope you can help. I have a V70 2004, diesel, 2401cc (over 307000 miles!). The passenger side door mirror is badly damaged (it collided with a a tree whilst I was avoiding a mad driver on the wrong side of the road). I was told the part number is 30634098. I am finding it difficult to get this part secondhand (the Volvo dealer quoted £600). Do you know if there are compatible parts that would fit my car? For example, I saw on ebay part number 30634062. Would this work? Many thanks, Sean Lawrence. |

I don't have a part number cross reference but a side view mirror is a classic breakers/salvage yard item.
My passenger's side mirror glass popped out the other day. The glue failed. A local glass shop got me the convex mirror and installed it for what the glass alone would've cost online ($65). Local body shops and auto glass shops have their sources. |

Mirror compatibility
Thanks GeorgeandKira.
My difficulty is that I have to replace the whole unit. Most secondhand mirrors have a model number that is different to the one for my car, but look like they are the correct shape. It's diffiicult for me to know if they would fit unless I purchase and try the fit. Obviously I don't want the hassle of buying and having to return (at my cost!) each time. Any ideas about how to cross reference compatibility with other mirrors? This way I would be able to choose which one to purchase and know it would be ok. I reckon I can fiddle the electrics to work even if there are different pins on the connectors. |

what colour is it? does it have a puddle light (is that an option for this year?) does it auto-fold, does it have heated mirrors...
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393395288...kAAOSwo89gyN9f this one any good? you might need to find out what paint code your car is and get busy with a rattle tin. worth keeping the external temperature sensor from the old one as a spare bear in mind import costs may apply when shipping in from outside the UK |

this one certainly appears very similar doesnt it..
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254827902...IAAOSwjetgr-2I have noticed my first link is LHD and this latest one is RHD, is that the difference between part numbers? who told you the part number .. presumably you have a RHD car not sure if that really makes any difference, of course the mirror would need to be at a different angle but they adjust dont they.. so.. no idea there's a note on this last one saying email him and ask if you have queries |

Thanks for your replies Stuart and for the ebay links.
My mirror is manual folding with no puddle light. It's electrically heated. It's a LH drive car. I took my mirror out but the part number was unreadable. The Volvo dealer told me the part number. I guess I will have to buy one from ebay and try it out. If it doesn't fit maybe I can grind the fitting down a bit. The electrics is another issue, Mine has a a 7-pin plug. Others have 8-pin, 11-pin or more. Thanks again. |

no worries, it sounds 2nd link is best for you then - RHD, left side, and 7 pin
(edited after your update) the hardest / most time consuming bit will be doing a decent job of the spray paint most likely. unless you dont care about that I suppose could just spray it black and do the other side the same so it looks like it's supposed to be like that Last edited by stuart bowes; Aug 10th, 2021 at 15:34. |
