Default Injectors and Battery

Car has been cutting out when first turning the key to start it, usually ok second attempt and it would run ok, so went into Volvo last week for diagnostics and they replaced two of the V8s injectors.

Battery has also been losing charge so I think needs replacing.

Today it was reluctant to start as per above, and a message came up: 'Reduced Engine Performance'.

I'm not sure if the battery is to blame, but if I replace it is there something heavy duty I should ask for or are they mostly all the same?

I'm assuming I need to get the damn codes read again (there is no engine magagement light, and the 'Reduced Engine Performance' message dissapeared when I turned the engine of and on again.

Will change battery tomorrow.

A dodgy battery will behave very differently from a healthy one so some quick tests with a multimeter will give you your answers.
A bad battery will also make the alternator work harder too and shorten its life so given the ridiculous location of the alternator on yours, you want to avoid that.
System voltage problems can lead to strange behaviour elsewhere on the car so anything is possible.

Dice and Vida is essential for keeping my comparatively normal S60 D5 running well so with an XC90 V8, you'd be wise to have similar.
