Default Ignition Lock blocked

Hey Guys

So few weeks ago, my car (2003 Volvo V70) started to show the problem of "can't move ignition key past position 1", for example like described here: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...osition&page=2

Sometimes it worked flawlessly, sometimes it needed some hearty hits on the key and then it worked.
So after reading online, I decided to remove the plastics around the steering column and check if there is something I could do about it.
As soon as I opened the fairing, the "pin" you see in the attached pictures fell out.

However, I found no possible hole or something like that where the pin could have fell out or blocked the lock, so I wanted to check with you guys if you know if that is the culprit. I just want to make sure that I really solved the problem

Regards!

Suggest you post in the >2000 section, this is for V70 up to 1999
