Top spec 2005 XC90?

Hi all.

I am on the lookout for a top spec 2005 XC90. It needs to be an automatic, D5, factory DVD system, Satnav, Parking sensors, ECC, electric everything, etc.

Is there a specific name for a top of the line car (like the 850R for instance), or is it just a matter of finding one with all the required option boxes ticked?

Executive is the Top spec model .

Search for one from the last year of production

When they did their sellout, almost every car had all the options fitted.

If you want Sporty, get the R-Design
If you want Luxury, get the Executive
If you like sound, make sure it has the dolby pro sound system fitted
If you want to tow, get one with the removable towbar

Tip:
Up to 7 option buttons can be fitted to the switch panel below the climate controls.
My car has 6 of the 7 buttons fitted, I'm missing only the Auxiliary Lamps... or Rear AC...

Front parking sensors are not so prevalent and I really miss them on mine, I recommend front parking sensors and backup camera.

Note that not all options can be fitted at the same time.

Thanks guys, Executive it is then! So what was the last year of production on these? 2005 seems to be the sweet spot for D5 engines I believe.

2014 was the last year of production.

I agree that 2005 was a sweet spot, with the 163hp engine. The early problems were sorted and the tax band is low. Plus the 163hp engine is just great!

I personally would not restrict my choice by wanting RSE. It is very dated these days and certainly my rear seaters in general carry their own entertainment that is far more sophisticated these days

Note you need a choice between subwoofer and row 3 Aircon. The sound system is great in my opinion without sub woofer but keeping row 3 cool is far 'cooler' for row 3 passengers.
These options are located in the same position. (Rear nearside wheel arch (RHD).

I personally select black interiors as they don't show the muck!

Good luck with your search. My no 1 options would be low mileage and FSH.
