SRS airbag service urgent

Stripped out my drivers door to fit new window mechanism last weekend. Now im getting SRS airbag service red triangle on dashboard.
My car is due an MOT. Will this be a fail or an advisory?
Im 50 miles away from nearest Volvo dealer to have the code cleared

Yea but actually no defect as fault just needs a reset. not sure if can be cleared by local garage.

how far can you actually drive to a pre arranged MOT. maybe if i book in at Volvo for MOT

I think the law is simply you are allowed to drive to the MOT, so if you were stopped and you are geographically on route to an appointment, I doubt distance matters.

Hopefully it just needs the code cleared... check it's not cheaper to get fault cleared and MOT at maindealer.. maybe they do a discount if you book in for both

edit... if your MoT has actually expired, do double check this as don't want to risk driving without Insurance (expired MOT invalidates), and ANPR cameras on motorway will likely auto clock you if MOT is expired....

Hi Centurion,
If your MOT is still valid, you can get it renewed 28 or 30 days before the renewal date and still keep the later date for your renewal next time. Also I had similar/same issue with the airbag warning light. It was caused because I'd disturbed the electrics plug/socket in the door fixing another issue. Was able to have the fault light cleared with local mechanic.

thanks fred was hoping that my local can clear the fault. My MOT has expired as been fixing a few things and have another car as my daily

if you plan on keeping it you could get an icarsoft 906 hand held tool

I use Crashdata.co.uk to reset airbag lights. Remove the module in the handbrake consul area post it to them, they return it fit it and no issues at all. They can do most airbag modules with no problems.
I have had one flashed previously where upon refit the car had an accident airbags deployed as should and no issues.
