Default Equalizer, bass and treble settings with sub?

I just swapped my 2010 for a 2012. Both cars with Premium sound; however my new 2012 has a subwoofer. What a difference when playing Lady Gaga and Eminem! If you like music with deep bass, a sub is definitively a must. However, when playing classic pop my first impression is that the mid range part was better in the 2010.
I have played around with the equalizer, as well as with the separate bass and treble settings trying to obtain the same good old performance in the mid range, but so far I have not found a setting giving me the same clear mid range as in the 2010.
It often boils down to personal preferences I know, but somehow I simply can’t find a combined setting that makes the mid range as good as in my old 2010. Perhaps there are sound experts among us that can provide some guidelines?

Hi

I find that on "sound" settings I have the base at 3/4, the treble at near full, both the DPL surrounds near full, fader middle, balance middle and the graphic equaliser settings as pictured in my album.(no idea how to post a picture in the thread!!)Also have the tailored to "driver" setting on.

I find that mid range can sound tinny on a lot of stereos so always have it low as I feel it sounds clearer.

Regards

Also I think the older ones were Dynaudio? The newer ones do not sound as good IMO

Default amazing sound

got the 2010 model still and will have for a few more years !!!!

have the dynaudio with upgrades and sub woofer - absolute quality !!!

bass is great and I havent yet played a single track that it couldnt handle or sounded distorted.

I keep treble near full or just a notch or two below / bass about same and sub on full. Never really checked if messing with equaliser then changes these settings though ????

Andy

Agree - I had the Dynaudio system with subs in my C70... shame I dont have it in my XC60.. wasnt an option unfortunatly :-( as Volvo swapped Dynaudio out for their cheaper kit...

I have a friend who builds stereos for competitions, he competes in the sound pressure level catagory not sound quality, the subs in his cars make you feel physically sick if you sit in there with them. :S

Listening to Cheryl Cole has exactly the same effect, just at much lower volumes....
