Sprayed black looks much better, how did you prep it?

What paint did you use?

Thanks

Just gave it a good wash then used abit of wet and dry to key the surface, mask it up and give it a good spraying. Both primer and top coat were just normal cheap rattle cans from the local Halfords..

You may have just solved my problem Si81! Looks good. Got nothing to loose by trying, not like I'm worried about damaging the old one! Did you remove Volvo logo for spray or just mask up carefully??

You need a pre-facelift one which is from 2004 to 2007. The facelift ones (2007 on) are bigger and won't fit the earlier models.
