Coolant level warnings are not uncommon when using aftermarket tanks so I'm assuming you've fitted a non genuine tank.....

I've never fitted aftermarket so don't know if there's a workaround.
There was a similar recent thread here but as is often the case, they receive help but don't have the manners to update with the final result.

Good call on using old tank to check sensor, will try that.

Sensor was very tight in the new tank.

Will go and give the float a "flick" and see if it pops up at all.

UPDATE

Float is popping up and down fine BUT seems to be moving a lot more than yesterday.

Maybe it just needed to "lube up" a little, a blast down the shops will show.

Will let you know.

Well of course that didn't work...

But I am no longer leaking fluid so not all bad.

Will run with it till next weekend and have another look.

One thing i did notice, there is a lot more float travel in the Hella one than the original Volvo one

No doubt that will exaggerate/corrupt the signal being returned to the CEM/ECM hence the warning.
I would be surprised if it's an issue which "settles down".

Well if Mrs. G is a purveyor of great build and component quality and reliability, she'll be disappointed by a C30 in comparison to a P2 V70.

You certainly don't buy a S40, V50, C30 or C70 platform car if you don't want random failures.
