There is a consensus amongst many tuners/modders/fiddlers that unless you are going for the AP or similar kits, sticking to the standard (none drilled etc) type of discs is best. If he swapped the fluid out, put braided hoses on and put ferodo pads in, or even XP12's or similar (can eat discs and squeal, but would haul a tank up) you'd do just as well.

That's what I did to my T5R anyway, tried a few combos and the best all rounder was Volvos own discs (302s), plod spec pads and braided hoses with nice fresh fluid.

i originally had redstuff pads but they were ****e and just kept cooking and cracking all the time... so i went to drilled & grooved discs & mintex performance pads, braided hoses and good quality fluid & i can honestly say that they work very very well (the other option is to spend alot of money and go for a big brake upgrade but am happy with mine at the moment)

depends on which discs he's running S40 T5 comes with 300mm or 320mm depending on the wheel size.

320 with Ferodo pads is what a lot of the ST lads use for track days etc...

Still If you get an AP kit that will be better still.

these figs may be totally wrong as i wasn't keeping an eye on it and cant recall how much i put in def put in 40 quid at mansfield as the thing was empty then topped off the tank later and had just under half a tank left when i got home

I think this would put it around 20MPG but like i say this is very rough and it was not being driven very sensible.

I will fill up on the high octane stuff soon and do a trip counter and let you know what it is like when being a bit more careful!!
Better check your maths!!! £70 at £1.40 a litre works out at 50 litres, or just a fraction over 11 gallons. That's 36MPG!!!!!

I'm off to London and back tomorrow and 30MPG average will be good going....

Talking

currently tracking three orders to help the Volvo along,

1, rear anti sway bar (in stansted should be here tues)

2, rear adjustable camber arms (to help straighten out the rears after the poly bush upgrades)

3, OZ super T's comin monday (hopefully)

the super T's are a pre cursor to the big brake upgrade figure i get the wheels first then find out what will fit in the space.

next step is the intercooler and possibly the upper and lower polished manifolds!

Get Goodyear Eagle F1 Asy on those OZ's - what wheel size you going for?

17" should accomodate 320mm focus ST - any bigger you'll need 18's

320's will fit under 17's no problem, well OEM ones anyway. 320's will actually fit under 16's - JUST!

marct1980 - are you IPD parts? How have you shipped your items and at what cost? I'm wanting to get some items from a couple of the US sites but the shipping costs are looking pretty expensive.

Cheers,

Default IPD anti roll bars.

I keep all IPD's anti roll bars in stock here in the UK.

Dont waste your money on non standard TCVs and drop links, they are costly and no better than Volvo's standard items.

Best regards, Don.
