Finally... the wait is over! Let the fun begin
So,
After quite some wait (ordered in December 2013), the car was finally delivered yesterday. After we received a card from our dealer (same type of card that we send in Belgium for the birth of a baby, with of course some chocolate), we could pick it up Tuesday. First filling out all the papers, checking every official document regarding the car: manuals, upgrade function,... then finally we could go and find our car. It was all rapped with a nice blue Volvo Car cover, with next to it a totem welcoming us and congratulating us with our new car. Uncovering the car, checking out the exterior and all the exterior features (keyless drive, opening and closing, functionality's of the key,... Then, again a complete check up of the interior and explanations regarding al the buttons, how to set up the seat (memory functions of the keys),... All in all, it took about 90 minutes! We also received some flowers! https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/1...79834332420337 Good for my Wife, who is not the reading type. The car itself is fantastic. Enough space, very good sound isolated,... One remark I have, is concerning the integrated child booster seats. They are very handy for short rides, but for the smallest one (2,5 years) they are a bit to low. He can't look outside. For the oldest one, it is perfect. Except when she falls asleep (holidays in Belgium...), the leather is so smooth she glides of the seat...

what a lovely way to get the new pride and joy handed over - the UK dealerships need to take some lessons from Belgium!

Congratulations - looks great and worth the wait. Look forward to your initial thoughts soon. You will not be disappointed.
I will be adding some info about my first 10 days experience shortly and did my first long(ish) trip today. I know what you mean about the booster seats. My daughter struggled with these at first (in my V70) as they do not provide side protection and she was prone to sliding around a bit. When she fell asleep, she looked awkward and woke up with a stiff neck. But now she's a big girl (6 today actually!) she finds them OK and likes the XC60 booster seat as it's bigger than in the V70. Happy and safe motoring and don't fiddle with the knobs and buttons as you drive. I know it's got collision warning and city safety but that's not the point............

Looks fantastic !!
Now then: white XC owners: are you okay with not having to clean them after every drive (can't recall who said they did that) ??! (still agonising over the white or Flamenco Red!!!) Enjoy :-)

That car looks great just the same as mine, I've had it for 6 weeks now and I love it. check out my photos.
Your dealer sounds really good, I had a similar experience here at Marshall of Grantham.
