V60 R-Design Sports Chassis
Hi,
I'm looking at a 2011-12 V60 T3 R-Design. Were all V60 R-Designs equipped with the 'sports chassis'? I like the look of the R-Design but I don't want a hard ride. I understand that the new V40 D2 R-design has a sports chassis but not the D3 hence my question. On the V60 R- Design, assuming it has a sports chassis is it a really hard ride? |

Mmmm. This is hard to answer since it depends on what you have experienced.
Had mine my V60 for 3 days. Previous car was a Mondeo Tit X with sports suspension. Both have 18" wheels. Mondeo suspension was good but not as compliant as the V60. So to describe it I would say it is firm but not harsh. You can certainly feel big holes but they are not jarring. You get a dull thudding over the rough stuff rather can a crashing noise. I've felt better in the latest BMW 1 and 3 series cars. And personally, I thought Audi A6 and A4 were worse. I wouldn't go for any wheels bigger than 18" though. Hope that helps.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I guess it is relative to what you have driven. At the weekend I test drove a BMW x1 m-sport. Didn't like it at all. It clattered over bumps and holes and the steering was really heavy. Hope to get out for a test drive in a V60 this weekend but it's good to hear other peoples opinions. Cheers |
