Default car play wireless adapter

I'm looking for recommendations for a carplay wireless adapter I can use in my 2022 XC60 with an iPhone.

There was a thread 3 years ago so presume there are newer devices now.

You should be able to connect your phone via Bluetooth? That’ll allow you to stream music etc.
or am I missing something?

Wireless CarPlay allows you to run navigation apps like Waze, Google or Apple Maps without having to connect your phone via a cable.

We've been using this one for a few years and it's been fine: https://cplay2air.com/en-gb although there are probably many more options now!

On a 2022 XC60 the system is Google AAOS and the sat nav is live Google Maps. Also you can install the Waze app directly on the system. Afaics the Bluetooth connection covers the other phone functions.

I don't need my phone connected for navigation but it needs to be cabled to play music from my phone and use other features.

I wish the AAOS cars had Android Auto.

AAOS won't install most Android apps, so (as an example) all the radio stations where you can listen without ads on subscription, can't be played - the bluetooth connection requires you to fiddle with your phone to change stations whereas with Android Auto you can just tap the screen.

Plenty of reasons why AAOS should have native wireless Carplay and AA, like the AAOS in other brands, very few why it shouldn't.

Yes I can play music via Bluetooth but it has to be selected on the phone, volume levels on the steering wheel don't work, etc.

I regret I do not understand what radio stations
you are referring to. I can listen to any broadcast adio station I want.
