Airbag service

I have a Volvo v50 58 plate, my problem is the airbag service light has come up on the dashboard, the problem seems to be the sensor below the centre consul, I have it in 3 different garages with the same result, they can’t reprogram it take it to Volvo. At Volvo they want £1000 + can anyone help, I live in north Kent, the car drives perfect.

You can try Volvo diagnostic, see if the existing unit can be repaired. They don't list it in their website, but you never know. Otherwise, assuming that it is the unit, its dealer only.

Is thet £1000+ price an actual dealer quote?
