Number 12 fuse blowing
Hi all. Had a problem with the electric windows the other day, in that they didn't work. Looked at fuse 10, all ok (at side of road so just a quick look). Once stopped, i noticed fuse 12 blown - this is electric windows relay, and back up lights (presumably this is reverse lights).
I took the time to clean all fuse locating tabs in the fuse board, and changed the fuse. All good, was drawing 1.4A with the reverse lights on (one bulb is blown) and basically nothing with the windows up and down. No problem, all working. Left a few days, still good. Started the car, still fine. Got home after a few miles, fuse blown again. Obviously related to the engine running then. Not sure if there is a relief/cranking cut-off relay in the Volvo? Fuse number 10 is still fine (power window fuse). https://www.240turbo.com/240-1987FusePanelmed.jpg Have you any ideas how this circuit works, and perhaps where i should start looking? Car is an 88 estate, GL 2.0l Thanks |
