Compared to before the new guards being fitted, yes .
Before the inside of the doors would have been covered in dirt, on the inside edge.
So yes I think they do a reasonable job.

I've just fitted my guards and they look like they will improve the situation. Plus they don't look bad at all! Thanks again Bobby2000 for the top tip.

anyone reckon the dealer will fit these if you complain about mud getting inside the car?
its obviously a design flaw which really we shouldnt have to pay to fix?

Hi All,
Here are a few pics of my guards fitted after completing a couple of weeks of driving over Christmas.
lovely clean inner doors and door seal on arch. They do the job. Probably designed for the snowier climate to stop the build up of snow and ice and doors freezing shut.

Brought these over Christmas and fitted last week. After a week of driving in crap weather I checked the inner doors and they were still both pretty clean.
Kudos to Bobby for discovering these were officially available from Volvo and making the details public.

Ordered my set today, gave him the parts number and he already knew what it was - apparently lots being sold through the Doves franchise!

Fitted mine on Sunday.

I wonder if Volvo will decide to fit them as standard.

Just fitted mine.
They aren’t a particularly great fit when the doors are closed there’s about a 3-5mm gap which is fairly obvious when looking at the car side on. I would have thought they’d fit more snug to the shape of the door curve.
