A guy in the UK has been running a B14 with a turbo (so lots of torque) and latterly Webers in a 66, so it can take a fair bit. I suspect the belts will also slip eventually, but you can certainly go fairly quickly in something as light as a 66!

alfa 90 transaxle in the back which has the twin plate clutch and flywheel on the front end.

would be better off with a T5 engine in the front :-)

No doubt, but I like the idea of the authenticity. The PRV can make some decent power if breathed on, even if they're dismal in standard trim (especially the early ones)!

Hi, I don't know much about that kit, I have attached a photo of a period advert for it. I do know it was rare at the time let alone now.
As for how much power the Variomatic can handle I'm currently finding out with my 66, it's the Gordini engined one that was turbocharged in 2021.
It is now normally aspirated again, ported Gordini head, 1690cc based on a B14, Emerald engine management and independent throttle bodies.
It's about 130hp at 6000 rpm and I'm experimenting with a nitrous oxide kit on it this year.

How do you get on with the propshaft and clutch ? This was a problem even with the standard engine. I always wanted to use a manual clutch with a CVT !
