Default Exhaust Support for '95 850 2.5

Hi folks,
Wonder if you can help.....

The integral bracket thingy towards the rear of exhaust has snapped on one side due to corrosion. It's the metal bar that is welded around the exhaust that hooks into the rubber support brackets on either side. My local independant says I will need to replace the exhaust at a cost of about £300 + fitting in order to pass the MOT (even though they acknowledge the exhaust is sound and "not going anywhere").

Does anyone know if there's a fixing kit out there that say clamps around the exhaust to harness it between the rubber supports or whether it could be welded.

Would appreciate any pointers. Many thanks.

Hi, I had the same thing go on my 850 2.5. I got my exhaust bracket welded by a friend of mine. It took him about 15 minutes and it looked spot on. I would of been faced with a bill for £294, But instead it cost me a £10!!! I would definately recommend that you get your bracket welded.

I had this happen to mine, no one seems to make a repair bracket.
I made one from two exhaust clamps 2 3/8" diameter and some welding to the existing hangers.

I had the same problem as above. I was in my local ATS branch having the tracking checked and asked them to look at the clamp.
They put a normal c-clamp around the bracket part that fits into the rubbers and then around the exhaust that was a couple of weeks ago and no problems since.
It took longer to put the car up on the ramp than it did to fix the problem and they didn't charge me for it.

Hi folks,
Took your advice and found a local welder to knock up a new support bracket and weld it on. Total cost £20....well happy. Many thanks for your help.
