Default 850 BRAKES BINDING

Can anyone help, My 97 850 tdi's brakes have recently began squealing
I have now found that the brakes have begun to bind. On investigation I found that the f/n/s was binding heavily this would ease on its own after a few minutes. I couldn't see any obvious reason for them sticking. Has anyone any experience of this and how to free them off.

Remove the pins for the brake pads and inspect. Use sandpaper to smooth any rough spots and grease with silicone dielectric grease or one of the sicone grease products designed specifically for the slider pins. If pins are bad, then replace. Inspect pad thickness and replace pads if too worn. Worn pads require the caliper piston to fully extend. If you still have a problem, then replace the caliper. I replaced one on my old BMW 325 with a rebuilt part. Worked fine and never had another problem with it.

Hi ya,

had this problem on both my passengerside calipers. I had binding especially on the rear and the front the caliper pistons had gone rusty with the pads rattling around in them. I in the end replaced all my calipers, pads and rear discs are they had become warped due to the rear binding.
