4. Seems to be getting louder over time!
Is this indicative of the aux belt problem? I took it to my local Volvo garage (where it's been serviced for last 2yrs) and they had no ideas, but I was unable to leave it long enough to completely cool before testing.
Has 75k on clock btw, full Volvo history. Any ideas? And does anyone know the likely bill for a Volvo dealer fix?
Thanks.

I once found both tensioners on a C30 T5 were noisy ( there are two sprung tensioners one for the inner belt and one for the outer belt ) you need to take both belts off one at a time and run the engine in between and then spin the tensioners see which feel rough . Run the engine without the belts to see if the noise has gone first . Don't rule out the alternator bearing if you cant feel a rough tensioner bearing .
