N/S 2008 V50 R Design mirror housing

Hi folks,

New to the forum. I have recently bought a 2008 V50 R-design, and the N/s wing mirror has obviously been knocked as the indicator is cracked, the whole housing does not sit flush against the door and there is a bit of plastic missing. Does anyone know when these mirrors changed and are the R-design mirrors different (other than the chrome cover) from a standard V50? Tried getting a whole unit off ebay, but didn't fit properly. It came off a 2006 V50.
Any help would be much appreciated.

V50's design slightly changed at 2008 so that might be why the 2006 wing mirror didn't fit properly.

I don't think there are any particular difference in standard and R-Design ones except for the chrome/silver cover.

2004 until 2007
2008 until 2012 face lift.

Hello, I am struggling to get a replacement, and have now bought two off ebay that have both been incorrect. I have an option of buying a 2010 S40 mirror with a chrome cover, which would imply to me it has come off an R-design?? Does anyone know if the S40 and V50 mirrors are exactly the same?

They should be the same.

Only the back end is different.

ah yes you must be having the same problem as I had, are these wing mirrors you bought too big im guessing?

Best to speak to the seller if you find one and get some measurements. I ended up having to phone the guy up to check as I order 2 which were too big.

The first one I got was pretty close in shape, but didnt sit flush against the door. (Turns out it was from a 2006 V50) The 2nd one was a completely different shape, and yes I think it was too big. Didn't even try fitting that one! I'm thinking I might need to call the dealer on this one.....
