Exclamation Emulsion in coolant expansion tank

V70 D5 2003 Geartronic, 86k miles, regularly Volvo serviced. Just had new G/B oil cooler fitted (original not up to the mark-caravan towing) and noticed emulsion in the expansion tank and cap. Not sure if both events are related. No cooling/coolant issues noted. Any advice appreciated. RMF.

The cap must kerp pressure and can fail at the seal. I'd check it first

sounds like gearbox oil mixed the cooling. Fix now or you'll ruin your gearbox.

The gearbox oil cooler is inside the side tank of the engine cooling radiator.
Or are you talking about the engine oil cooler on the back of the sump.

Sorry I see you fitted a auxiliary gearbox cooler.
the cooler on the sump can leak engine oil into the coolant .

MM187 - thanks for your comments/advice, I will be aware for the future. Immediate problem seems to have gone away after I removed and internally cleaned the coolant expansion tank. Regards MM187
