Default P0237 fault code and MAP sensor location (V70)

Hello all,

My 2002 V70 T5 has the engine warning light on. I recently bought a generic code reader and decided to track the code down. I'm getting a P0237 (Turbo boost sensor A circuit low fault). Upon clearing the codes down it re-appears straight away and the engine light is on again after a few miles. As for performance I can't say the car feels like it is in limp mode but I would like to rectify this if I can (particularly before the MOT).

As this is a low fault it either indicates a dodgy sensor or a short to ground in the wiring. I would like to check the wiring and the sensor but I'm a bit unsure of the location of the damn thing! So help required please! Is it the MAP sensor I should be examining? (bear in mind this is a generic code reader I'm using so no more detail available apart form the generic ODB code).

I have the 2.3 T5 engine and looking into the bonnet I can see two sensors poking out of the manifold. I have attached pictures. Are either of these the MAP sensor? Should I be checking them? Any guides to removing? Any gotcha's for these sensors/the wiring/this code? Many thanks in advance.

Hi In the photos are the injectors,
is there a sensor in the intercooler,
Have a look at the inlet manifold see if it is in there

I will take a look. To add spice to the mix I am now picking up three codes.

After reset P0237 re-appears immediately.
After a minute or so I get P0030 H02S heater control circuit
And after a drive I get P0134 O2 sensor circuit no activity detected.

All three faults are confirmed after a second engine restart and engine light comes on.

So... Have I just got an unlucky series of failures or are these problems likely to be related to a common failure (wiring etc). Could a problem with the map sensor be leading to the O2 sensor issues? Plus... Where do I find all those things?! (Thanks Dave for the pointer towards the intercooler)

Hi the o2 sensors will be in the exhaust down pipe , there could be melted wires but will be sealed to the o2 sensor you will have 2 of them one before the cat and one after, I think, it will be worth changing both, will your reader show live data if it can you will see if they work, replace the o2 sensors with good make , bosch

I think the MAP sensor is at the front, underneath the large black metal plate that runs between the headlights, near the center bonnet hook. It has a hose going to the intake manifold, check if this hose is disconnected.
