Default S80 D5 Glow Plugs

I've got a W-reg 2000 S80 D5 and it does not have a Glow Plug light on the dash or anything telling you engine is ready to start,it's been difficult to start and when measuring the voltage to the glowplugs it read zero volt and when it does get going is clouds of black smoke ,any ideas?thanks.

Have a bit of patience, you posted at 1:37 am, many people will not have even had a chance to read your post yet especially given it's a work day today.

If its the 2.5 tdi check the pump timing, ambient temperatures warm now so plugs would be a red herring. The tdi switches the voltage on depending on temp outside so Ive been informed.

Try doing a leak back test on your injectors. And then prepare yourself for the bad news.

If we are talking about the 2.5 Tdi the injectors can be reconned for about £25 each. I think new ones are about £125 each, but dont quote me in that.
