Hello I-S,

You didn't work for Sugden did you? Your location in Huddersfield started me thinking. Many years ago I had a Sugden A48 amplifier, excellent bit of kit!

Sadly my 2009 V70 was built a few weeks too early to get the USB connection and only has a 3.5mm AUX socket although the CD player can play MP3 and WMA CDs. My local Volvo dealer wants £500 to retrofit the USB socket option!!! and I just cannot get that past the financial controller (wife) as I've just had the very expensive 6 year (Belts and tensioners) service.

I didn't, no... I worked in the semiconductor industry (although I did have a brief spell in a high-end hifi startup that folded), and the hifi companies were our customers there. I was doing reference design circuits, some of which were taken wholesale into real products.

I've just ordered a 64GB Cruzer Fit - a bit of reading around suggests that it should work as long as FAT32 formatted. I hope so, as we're down to less than 1GB free space on the 32GB stick, and more music is needed...

I bought the 64gb cruzer and when formatted to fat 32 you only get 32gb storage, add to that, the drive comes formatted as exfat, so straight away the drive can't be read by the car.
Google converting exfat to fat32 and you can get a free tool, but you are only guaranteed a max of 32gb storage.
If you find a way to extend that to 64gb and the car still read, please let me know

IS can you recommend someone to fix my old marantz pm30 amp in the sheffield/chesterfield area? I have it set up in the garage with my old fm tuner and jpw sonata speakers, which was a great set up but it crackles from one channel so i run it through just one speaker now. Tried cleaning the pots with switch cleaner but to no avail......
