T5 project?
My 1996 850 T5 auto. 318,000 miles but loads of history, mine for the last 5 years and its earned its keep but has been looked after.
Oil and genuine filter every 5000 miles. Cambelt kit water pump and PCV at 300,000 miles and previously at 240,000. New MAF last year and ABS ECU replaced last month with new OEM plugs. Gearboxoil changed. Handbrake cables and shoes replaced last year for mot and went through this year with just an advisory on the rear pads. Tested to December next year so running gear in good order. Fast road front pads last september. Lowered with Bilsteins and Eibach springs all round, genuine strut brace so handles like a big roller skate. RICA 280 map and have the printout from the rolling road session when the map was installed by HLM. Very good Falken 914's all round on decent T5 alloys. Spins wheels and makes me smile every time I go out in it. Black paint that shines up well but lots of tiny stone chips at the front. Real light clusters are a couple of years old and nightbreaker headlight bulbs. Grey leather interior is nicely aged but not rips or tears. Change of work means that it sends a lot of time in rush hour traffic and it hates it. Recently after crawling along in stop start traffic it emptied the header tank, lots of steam but the gauge did not move and got home lt it cool then did some light running around, no problems. Next day it did the same whilst crawling in traffic. Money is on the head gasket being on its way out and if you have seen my thread on it smoking when it gets hot in traffic the turbo seals need doing. I do not have the time or facilities to do this work and I have a disability so physically I cannot do it. New plug leads dist. cap and rotor arm from PFV but not fitted. As much as it pains me, the car needs to go hopefully to someone who is looking for a project for the winter. I will not break it so don't ask. Drive away for £300 (ish) Could add photo's if requested and someone can explain to me (very slowly) how to do it.
