Default Phone, USB, Bluetooth... help?!

Hi everyone. Just signed up, first post - be kind

I bought a 2009 S80 SE a month ago, and I've been battling with the audio without success.

The phone menu says the car isn't equipped with a phone - weird message, but I guess it means no bluetooth, so I'm going in via USB. Connecting my Samsung Galaxy S3 throws up a "USB device is not readable" error - so no tunes, no phone, nadda. Plugging in a USB drive lets me play MP3s from it, but the ordering of the songs is crazy - having read through the forum, I know the songs are ordered by their order on the disk and can be sorted with a directory sort (using a Windows app, but I have a Mac), which is something I can't quite believe made it to a production model.

So, is there something that can be done with a software upgrade? Is anyone happy with the USB/MP3 option, maybe found a workable solution? Volvo quoted me about £370 to fit a bluetooth module, but I've read people still have problems and I didn't work to fork out if it's just a rubbish. Any advice?

Thanks,
Dave.

I'm not certain what you are trying to do. I think (but would need to check) that the folders are in alphabetical order - though I normally have random switched on for some variation.
I think that your car must have the phone/Bluetooth system, you will need to pair first. You can't play music from your phone via the Bluetooth. Also worth checking you have the latest Bluetooth software on the car (mine, a July 2009 bought) had an update before it worked smoothly.
