Fitting a salvaged system doesn't seem possible either because apparently: "They are set up specifically for the car using a computer and can't be moved from car to car" Really? I'm not confident I'm talking to an expert but where do you find specialists who know what can be done and what can't (and why)?
maybe your car ISNT a 2010 model year 2009? what is the VIN ?
there is mo mention of chassis number on the web site .
when you turn the radio on the first screen you get indicates which radio you have .
Try another Volvo dealer , some have people who are enthusiastic and knowledgeable

Curiouser and curiouser. I can't see sign of any information about the audio system when I switch on - sometimes an image of the car, but nothing about the system. The handbook refers to the system being either "Performance", "High Performance" or "Premium" and since I don't have the USB port in the centre console, I conclude I have the "Performance" version (ie basic).
The website clearly shows a solution for 2010 (and 2009) models with "Performance" audio systems, so it seems reasonable to suppose that it ought to work with my car. I will try asking a different dealer.

It's all clear: the chassis number comprises the last 6 digits in the VIN number and the accessory website shows the range of chassis numbers next to each item. So the pages Clan pointed to have a chassis number range from 175379. Mine starts 09xxxx so it's too early. There are other options on the site for earlier chassis numbers but they are, as someone has pointed out in another thread - very expensive.

I think that you may find that these are for older audio systems than that fitted to the XC60

I say that because I fitted the first one to a V70 that I used to own, took it out after a few weeks because it was total crap.
