accelerator sticks

okay as title reads i have a sticking accelerator it sticks just after 1/4 throttle
dont see many other posts like this except for one back in march where dealer replaced box for £150
anyone else have this prob
is it gonna be simply a sticking linkage
or a computer part which cant be fixed with wd40 and a hammer

okay just got a look, the padal is attached to a black box which probabley has a plastic linkage inside attached to the pedal i imagine opening this box and using electronic grease will cure the sticking
the big questions are?
has anyone removed this box
and opened it

will i kill something messing about with this box
