I have a new 16" alloy and tyre spare wheel for my S60. Tried to fit it in the boot and failed months ago. Any one managed it?
Many thanks for any advice.

Thanks Mo for your quick answer.
I just thought the police had a full size spare. I am going abroad in October with the car and if I could have put the full size one in it would have been a bonus.
Many thanks

I've read somewhere on here that you can fit the full size wheel in but have to remove all the padding/moulding, and even then it's a squeeze.

Edit ah it was here: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...ll+sized+spare

was for a V70? Maybe the design is different?

Let all the air out - should fit then ;-)

Many thanks. The full size size spare fits in the V70 as long as its not got the rear 7 seat conversion. I had this in the boot of my V70. When its dry I will give it another go.
Many thanks.

Jim, any joy with fitting a full size spare in the boot of your S60?

I had the pleasure of driving 60 miles down the M40 yesterday on the spacesaver and I'm very keen to replace it with a full size spare if possible.

It should go in but will sit proud of the recess so the boot floor won't go flat.

As a follow up to my last post regarding replacing the spacesaver with a full size spare...

I bought a 16" wheel and tyre via ebay last week and it fits perfectly in the spare wheel recess of my S60.

My car is a 2003/53 S60 D5 S and the wheel I bought was a standard 16" 6.5J Volvo Mimas - the same as fitted to my S model as standard.

The 3 foam lumps glued to the recess to support the spacesaver had to be removed but once that was done the wheel dropped in easily. Even the original plastic spindle could be used to lock the wheel down and the jack/brace/etc. replaced in their original positions. The carpeted boot floor panel was replaced and fitted perfectly as before.

I notice other people appear to have problems fitting a full size spare in the boot of their S60 so I thought I would share my experience...it can be done!

I have a 2006 V70.

A 17 inch wheel (225/45 17) will fit nicely in the wheel well. No need to remove or adjust any foam, the battery.

The black tray won'f fit in. C'est la vie!
