Default 17" spare into S60 wheel well ?

Anyone had any luck with a 17" ORESTES on a 2006 S60 ?
I've bought one today as a spare and I'm hoping to squeeze it in instead of the space saver. I'll report back after trying to fit it?

Regards
Steve

Ebay, Buy it Now £85, haven't got it yet but pleased to pay that much. They rarely come up and are expensive. There are 2 on at the moment I think but they were both poor condition.

my orestes goes in my s60 fine, theres two different boot floors on the s60, the one with the load divider and the one without, you need the one without for it to go in flat.

p.s the load divider is a big sprung flap about 1/3 from the back just for reference

Alex, is this the flap that lifts up from the boot floor with the elastic on and hooks to retain shopping bags ?

Thanks
Steve

Default Full Size Spare Wheel

The normal 16" alloy Wheel & Tyre should fit into the well of the S60 with the rubber safety padding removed. Regarding the Mk2 V70, there is a special flat tool tray available for the cargo area in police V70s which lets the full size spare wheel fit without interfearing with the floor. There was one for sale on Ebay recently, but they should also be available from www.Salvogroup.co.uk or other Volvo breakers.

Well I've got the 17" Orestes in the well OK after removing all the padding, however the boot floor cover does stand proud and is a little 'rocky'. I'd estimate that the new wheel is around 1" too high and I dont think much can be done about it. All in all I think a small price to pay for a full size spare so I'm just gonna live with it.

Steve

im not sure about any elastic but its for holding shopping in place etc, is about same width as boot opening and about 1ft in length/height if you get me.

I must have been lucky....

I got a full size peg spare for my R just after I bought it. I simply removed the padding blocks from the boot floor and in went the 17" peg without drama.
