Hello, I have owned several volvos including 850 T5’s but am looking to purchase an Xc70 with the T5 petrol. Is this the same engine as the focus st ? & what problems should I look for? Thanks.

The xc petrol use the low pressure t3 engine not the t5.

Are you wanting one, as you posted in the sale section.

I have a XC70 2.5t geartronic which, according to spec, kicks out 207bhp. I’m more than happy with its performance and if I’m after a bit of a spirited drive I knock the gearbox into manual mode and let the engine sing! There’s more than enough grunt and get up and go and would ask why you wanted a T5 lump in an XC model when you could get a nice V70 which has better road handling... perhaps? My XC is regularly driven off-road but I’ll also make use of those 207 horses if I want to make a bit of progress on the tarmac. 👌

Thanks for the reply, ilive out in the sticks so a four wheel drive estate would be ideal but I don’t want a T5 motor, was just wondering what spec engine was in the Petrol model, thanks again.
