Oil temperature I guess we could let the engine run to heat the oil... but I guess it would be hard to hit the exact recommended temp.... But adjusting to the exact level would be even harder without Vida right? And reseting the counter... no need to talk about it... there is no way... So yes I see. The more I think about it, the more I assume I should either do it for the first time with a mecanic at his garage who has the vida or do it at home with a vida and a mechanic who could help me... For the first time I mean... |

This is how i changed my transmission fluid.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAb9p8Wph-M But as Roy said earlier not 100% of the fluid will be changed but 60,70,80% is better than not changing the fluid at all. Last edited by ianrmz250; Feb 8th, 2018 at 20:45. |

The video method shown is harder then the approved Volvo method which is to use the gearbox cooler return pipe to pump out the dirty oil and keep adding clean oil.
It's easier to do this and doesn't mix dirty oil with clean as much. Look up the gibbons method for a description, and much easier!

I'm looking at the LiquiMoly products. I'll buy the one to help clean the oil before flushing it. It's hard to say for sure how usefull it is but it seems to be one of the most reliable compagny... so I'll give it a shot. To be sure of the interest of those product I guess I should - change the oil, I mean flush it - put the cleaning product and flush the oil again.... but... I'm not sure I'll do it... If I do I'll post the pictures when I do it (a year from now). If anybody is interested I've asked for parts at skandix in Germany, their prices are really interesting... They have Volvo parts and consumables to service our cars... |
