Default Bosch Battery for V70

i bought this battery in February from Euro Car Parts whilst diagnosing a starting issue with my V70. It turned out to be something else altogether so it has sat on a shelf in my garage since then taking up valuable space. Unused/as new condition.

Bought for a 2003 V70 D5, I assume it's also compatible with S60 and S80 of similar vintage, and quite possibly newer and older variants too.

I still have the receipt, it's guaranteed for 4 years.

See the current listing for it here

Sensible offers - I need the space.

How much are you after?

I've found new ultra-budget batteries are £65, Branded budget (Lion/Yuasa) are £100-110 new.

Mine is currently OK after a charge, but slightly weak-starting, so I'm scoping out the market.

I will probably be coming to Leamington within the next few weeks, so I could collect from you in Kenilworth.

Matt.

Car just failed to start this morning, and I'll likely come to the midlands next week.

Let me know.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I've topped up and charged my current battery and it's starting the car again, but maybe not for long, so I'd still like to look at replacing it.

I've been looking mostly at Lucas/Hankook batteries available for around £70-80 new with warranty.

I've found also that the Euro Car Parts is actually about the dearest place going for the Bosch battery, for example, it's available here for £100 new from an eBay shop:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HEAVY-DUTY...pid=1255528824

I'm wondering what the best long-term purchase is.

So, sorry, a few questions if I may.

- Have you kept the battery charged up while you've had it, or has it just been stored? And is your garage heated or not (so it's at ambient temperature)?
- Do you know it's present resting voltage?
- Do you still have the original warranty docs and is the warranty transferable?

Thanks, Matt.

If you want a Volvo OEM battery they aren't that expensive - I just bought one from Sentinel in north London for £125 (the big 019 for the V70). Made in Germany it says and maintenance free (unlike the original it replaced - which was fine for 12 years).
