XC90 REM / anti-skid service and park assist service.
Hello.
I have a xc90 2011. I have had 2 messages pop up at the same time. Anti-skid service required and park assist service required. I have checked all fuses on the REM but all seem ok. Fuses 20 upwards though does not any power. Think these had a ignition feed. All other fuse locations have live feed which is permanent. Has anyone any ideas how I can resolve this? Many Thanks in advance, Mark. |

I think you are looking at two completely different faults
For park assist, unplug the connection from the park assist control modul in the trunk, and then reconnect and try again. Otherwise, you need VIDA to check what the fault is - it could be any one of the 4 or 8 sensors on the vehicle And while VIDA is connected you can find out what is causing the anti.slid service required message. Could be any wheel speed sensor.

Ok I will unplug and plug the parking sensors later.
But this won't solve the no power on the REM on fuses above location number 20. |

In what vehicle state? Sleep? Key out? Key in? PosI? PosII? Do you have every single function failing? If not then it tells you simply that the power on the fuse is only present when the function is active. Here are the functions and values of fuses F21 to F38: F21 Spare - 10A F23 4/82 Differential Electronic Module (DEM) - 7.5A F26 4/86 Parking Assistance Module (PAM) - 5A F27 Main fuse for F20, F21, F23, F24, F26 - 30A F28 3/76 Lock unit, left rear door 3/77 Lock unit, right rear door 3/78 Lock unit, tailgate 6/37 Lock motor, fuel filler flap 15A F29 4/110 Trailer Module - running light - left-hand direction indicator 26/4 Converter, direction indicators & brake lights, USA - running light - left-hand direction indicator - 25A F30 4/110 Trailer Module - brake lights - fog lights - right-hand direction indicator - 25A F31 Main fuse for F37-F38 - 40A F37 9/2 Heated rear window - 20A F38 9/2 Heated rear window - 20A

F26 is your PAM, could be related to your PAM fault F24 has no function F23 is the DEM. Is your XC90 an AWD or front wheel drive model. Is a DEM fitted? Does it communicate on the CAN bus? F20 - this wasn't part of your original fault description so I didn't include it. Look in the owner's manual to see what it is. At any rate, connect VIDA and activate and test every device fed by these fuses. You will narrow down the problem much faster than just using a multimeter.

Yes my car is AWD.
I do not have VIDA. I will have to look into how to get VIDA. I do have a OBDii reader from my last car so could look at software VIDA. Just strange how these block of fuses are no longer live and the 2 error message appeared at the same time which I think both use these block of fuses. |

Check the wiring diagram for your car and look for commonality in the power feed. Check the power distribution TO the REM I don't have a 2011 wiring diagram before me but I have 2009. The wiring is nearly identical. The 2009 has the REM fed by fuse 11E/1 which comes from the 30+ feed which also feeds the CEM. The 30+ feed must be in place otherwise the CEM would complain a lot. Fuse 11E/1 is the main REM power fuse, and feeds via the REM the following: running lights, reversing lights, trunk lights, rear wiper/washer, park assist, alarm, AEM, 12V outlet, towing connector, parking camera, and more. If ANY of these functions work then fuse 11E/1 must be OK 11E Fuses at battery Fuse 11E/1 is the big 60A fuse #1 on the fuse block located right next to the battery. Extremely unlikely that this has failed. If fuse 11E/1 is OK but you still have no power on the devices after a REM reset, then you have an internal fault in the REM. Repair or replace it.

The functions listed work fine and I did test all fuses next to the battery and all are okay.
I will try a REM reset when I get home from work as I do not have VIDA. I would just like to say a big thank you for your help so far. Mark. |

But your next steps are Reset REM (through battery reset) If that doesn't fix it: get VIDA (yourself, friend...) and read and clear all error codes If that doesn't fix it: Execute vehicle reset in VIDA If that doesn't fix it: Repair or replace REM. Likely in that age REM the outputs are controlled by semiconductors and not relays, thus harder for you to repair.... replacement may be easier....
