Dean,
There's plenty of clearance under the car to reach the propshaft without having the car up on a ramp.

[QUOTE=RoyMacDonald;1930207]
Has anyone reached 200k with the original Euro 3 sleeve?

/QUOTE]

2004 euro3 with 145k and still going strong. No mention of it in the history.

Pulls my boat up a slippery slipway no problem so I know the 4WD is working.

I know I just don't get the hesitation issue that people mention and get more mpg than almost everyone who posts on here. I did look a few cars before I chose the one I did because it sounded so good. It certainly seems to be standing the test of time. Regularly returns 40 mpg now.
Coming down if favour of the XC60 for long distance because it's so effortless to drive on the journey to Scotland, thanks to being quieter and having all the driver aids, especially the BLIS and adaptive cruise control. My XC90 is an 03 model though so this won't apply to all those who have late models.

Thanks, I've now bought one, the other two I went to see both needed the spline sleeve replacing.

Excellent tip for someone looking into xc90 ownership.

At 150,000 miles the car has lasted long on its original AWD. Still has, the physical AWD system is fine, but the DEM isn't working and I need a new one of those.

Got mine sorted 2 weeks ago. 2004 XC90 D5 (163)
It was in for a service 4 weeks ago and the indy told me that it was my transfer sleeve that was the problem - sending no drive to the rear wheels. Got it for £100 (a new one he had in his toolbox from an earlier cancelled job. I was told around £150 new) plus labour. Not sure how long the labour was as I got gearbox oil renewed and new intercooler on the same visit. £650 in total 5 hrs labour plus £155 for the intercooler & £50 for oil. Labour £45 per hr.
