Default Xc60 heater control panel?

Hi all, i've enjoyed the site, searching and finding the answers to many questions i have but can't find an answer to this.
I have two XC60's a 2012 SE LUX and a 2015 R Design, i just bought the R Design from a salvage yard to fix up for my wife but the center control panel isn't working so no heater/blowers/climate etc. I can use the steering wheel controls for NAV, radio but as i've said the control panel doesn't work. I removed the control panel from my 2012 to try in the other car but it didn't work so i tried the fuses but all good. I've checked connections and the CEM and all seem in great condition. I've also checked the wiring harness and there's power getting to the control panel.
Are the control panels vehicle specific or can you swap them easily from another car? I've searched online (ebay) for the same part number but all the ones with matching part numbers have different buttons/functions from the one in mine?
I've also done a diagnostic and get code U016400
Any help or direction to threads/posts i've missed will be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Steve

I would check the wires behind CCM. Looks like there is a fault. Look in this article https://www.snapon.com/EN/US/Diagnos...AN-Bus-Failure

Got it sorted, managed to get a control panel with matching part number from a S60 for £10. Thanks
