This week I fitted a set of 4 Bilstein B4 shock absorbers to my V70, also got it remapped at Shemtek near Ollerton - what a huge improvement !
B4 shocks kit at a good price from PfV - £230 for four + post.
Also got a 4 wheel alignment done.
4 new tyres ordered from Black Circles last Monday when they had a 10% discount on their already very competitive prices.

Thanks for all the tips , just a bit concerned about stripping the threads on the sump (if there are any !) As for pumping out through the dip stick tube surely many newer cars don't have a sump bolt ? Another rainy day here, will need Wellies in the pit !! Anyone know what size bolt/thread is used on the car ?

Hi Dave,
The car was a 163 euro 4, now it's 220 bhp + 440 nm torque.
I had a plug in Bluespark tuning box on the car prior to the remap, which I'd already declared as a remap to my insurer, so no change.

Thumbs up

My rear seatbelts were pretty jammed up with 16+ years of oily fingers.
They needed to be fed back into the seats, or they would just lie on the seat.
I filled a basin with luke warm water and a mild detergent, then placed one belt in the water and held the belt out in its extended position with clothes pegs.
After about 20 minutes of soaking, I rubbed the belt with a clean microfibre cloth and left it extended, allowing it to dry.
Did the same to the other outer belt.
This morning, the belts were dry and when the pegs were removed, the belts rolled straight back into the seat.
A truly worthwhile job.

Gary

Found myself in two minds as to whether I should just bend the contacts on the indicator stalk or take it fully apart and hunt out the bad connection.

Given how easy the switch is to get out and from experience how difficult switches can be to get back together with springs and levers firing off everywhere, I’ve wiggled the pins and let’s see how it is on a cold wet morning. Dissection can wait till it needs to happen I think....

Gave up on the sump plug, ordered a suction pump, so decided to replace the rear engine mount, I have looked at Cheshirered video , amazing how he did it with just ramps ! But having a problem trying to get to the bottom bolt, can't get a socket through the small gap, maybe better to order a wobble bar ?

Replaced the front droplinks again with Meyle HD units. Got 3 years out of the first set, and although they were still serviceable they were starting to look rather ropey.
