Default Help with selling V50 - how much to sell for?

HI all,

I've decided to sell my V50 but need help with how much to put it up for.

Heres the details
2005 V50 Sport Geartronic , Petrol, auto, 196,000 miles - FSH - Body work in great shape, Grey, Winter pack, pop up Sat Nav, 6 CD changer, keyless entry, cruise control, premium sound system , sun roof and all tyres in reasonable condition. MOT to Oct 2019, new battery, front springs.

Negative side ; Air con not working, on call deactivated.

Drives really well - not rattles or shakes.

Thanks in advance

Any car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.I know nothing of V50 values, but I'd look on E-bay,Gumtree etc. to see what people are asking/what prices they're reaching on there.Figure out[try to be objective/realistic]what you'd be happy to achieve then add £50-£100 on that to allow "haggling" room.Good luck with your sale.

Thanks - I think I've come to £1,200 because of the high mileage but I have seen others around £1,500 - £2,500 with less mileage = around 70-110K
I didn't think there would be such big differences in asking price. Cheers

My son sold his 2004 V50 T5 manual, last summer for £1750, 141,000miles. It was in good condition with everything working and recently serviced. He put it on ebay for £1900 on a classified add with best offer and it was sold to the first person to view, within a week of listing it. There were similar spec cars advertised at £2200 and they were still there after a month of being on ebay. My son was keen to sell as he had a new company car so the V50 was just sitting there not being used.

AC repair at the dealer is circa £650 and a very common fault on the V50/S40/C70 etc... the condensers fail. You could get a cheap Re-gas to get it working long enough to sell it.
To get an idea of its value try the We Buy Any Car website and slap £500 on top for measure. When I traded my V50 in I used the dealers online car value software using the best condition value parameter and set that as my benchmark and got it. Ok, they were selling me a car but it gives you somewhere to start.

The sad fact is it's a 14 year old V50 petrol auto with big miles. Not only is it not worth owt it won't be easy to sell.

P4 is right - there's always a stigma attached to cars with that sort of mileage, whether it's justified or not.
