V50 - Electronic seats?
I am considering purchasing a V50. The specific ones I am looking at do not have electronically adjustable front seats but otherwise they fit the spec I am looking for.
Does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit electronic seats into a V50 that came with manual ones and if so, the approximate cost? |

yes you could fit original volvo seats with the electronic bits in them, the wiring loom should have that as a base add on, for the electrics and the heated part of the seat.
you would need a wiring diagram if you wanted to fit alternate electic seats to find out what colour wires are supply, ground etc so yes it could be done, but you may have to mess with wiring and possible alter the subframe there is allways a way to do something, never say no, we would still live in caves if we did that

impossible to work as intended as the CEM wont have any software to work the PSM the switches on the seat dont work the motors they send a message to the CEM which in turn sends a message to the PSM to activate the required motors then there is the mirror memory etc !

So i guess an alternate spec CEM would allow this to be done with appropriate software adn associated hardware.
Point is if they build it in the factory then its possible. Its often, as i believe you are making expertly clear, not straight forward or cost effective. Thanks for the operational explanation, very interesting. |
