Default Photos Wanted

As some of you may know, i'm having a few problems with oil consumption on my S40.

One of the things that Volvo have said is that the sooty residue on my exhaust is 'perfectly normal for the age of my car'. (see attachment here: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/attach...2&d=1184591896 )

I don't believe this for a second, as I have seen much older cars with totally clean exhausts.

If anyone is feeling really generous, and has some free time, would you mind taking a photo of your exhaust for me and sending me a copy? My car is a 2004 1.8, and has done 27,000 miles. So I would ideally like a photo of a car that is similar age and same or higher mileage. (bit of an ask I know, but i would really appreciate any help!)

Thanks for all the help so far

PM me for my email.

Cheers,

Matt

Don't have a picture with me but I wouldn't worry too much about that. Sooty deposits are not that unusual. A far more useful test is to pop out your plugs and have a look at them (attach pictures if you can). They will tell you if you are running rich/lean
