The engine to my Ruddspeed engine is currently stripped and being rebuilt. Appears that as part of the works, the engine was bored out. I am missing a rocker cover for the car though. I know it is a long long shot, but if anyone does have one in the garage, please do let me know as I am really hunting for one. Please do contact if you know of one.
Many thanks Mark |

Unless you have the original invoice showing that the car was supplied by Rudds with modifications carried out when new, it'll be difficult to say what you should and shouldn't have. Rudds were very flexible as to what they would fit for a customer plus all the parts were available as aftermarket items. Usually the only sign that there is anything different is that it has a Ruddspeed head and that can be identified by a small numbered plate on the flat section between plugs 1 and 2. Unlikely that it would have been bored out at the time, not cost effective, may not even have had an uprated cam. The valve cover with the Ruddspeed plate riveted to it also an extra. Yes, rare now and probably more of them on non Rudds engines than genuine ones!
What history do you know about yours Mark? |

Hi
Thanks for the message. To be fair, the history on mine is extremely limited and therefore, what mods were done can only be told from what I can see. The car was stolen and lost for nearly 10 years and the majority of the history of the car went. Therefore, I am literally having to start the history afresh wit the restoration that is being carried out. Concerning the engine, I have a little Ruddspeed plaque on the engine block and the engine rebuilder can only really comment on the mods he can see, which included an uprated cam and the increase in engine bore. Would just love to have the cover just to try and finish the rebuild off. I think it might be one of the things that will come up when I least expect it lol. |

ruddspeed
don't forget to post the car to the ruddspeed facebook page (www.facebook.com/ruddspeed). Or send me the details and photos of the car and I'll post them on the website and FB page (peter@ruddspeed.com).
Look at the website (www.ruddspeed.com) under the article and ads section on the gallery and you'll find a few bits there that might be of interest. cheers Peter |

Hi
When I get the car back later this year. There will be pics up of the car and will also be sent to the Ruddspeed FB account. I have emailed them to see if they have anything. Fingers Crossed. thanks mark |
