do you have a visible number plate at the back of your XC60 when you have the bikes loaded onto the carrier?

I took advice from the local policeman (neighbour) who suggested that I get a number plate bar with lights made up as my bike hid the number plates and rear lights. The XC60 lights might be higher and wider than the bikes on the rack.

I still think the best solution is the Thule roof bar and bike carrier system. At about £250 it is a quarter of the price of a tow bar and rear bike carrier. You can spend the £750 savings on upgrading your bike to a carbon fibre version which will be much lighter to lift on the roof. If it’s still too heavy then you probably have arthritis in which case you still need the roof system as you might struggle to turn your neck when reversing which you will need to do with the other system as your parking sensors will be useless :-)

Certainly is.
It's a Volvo branded version of the Thule G6 929 LED with 4th bike extension.
