If that is the same feed for the PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heater the wiring for these can, on occasion, overheat and melt. The idea is this chap heats up the crankcase vapours on their return for re combustion. The heater is located on the fresh air in hose/pipe close to the turbo (compressor side). You'll need to expose its wiring to check for any damage.

It is deffo the PTC as it drives fine without.
Apparently it's absolutely fine to drive it with or without the ptc. However, I will jry and find one ASAP.. Thanks for your help guys.👍👍🤗

Volvo still supply the PTC, it is actually part of the air duct which I didn't know.

I may be wrong here, Willi, but you may discover the heater itself isn't the issue but rather the insulation on its wiring has melted, over the years, leaving the copper cores exposed and therefore overloading the fuse. I think it would be wise to inspect as much of the wiring as physically possible before purchase and fitting of a new heater.
