I'd be concerned as to why it blew in the first place. Has it blown the fuse again?

If that is the same feed for the PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heater the wiring for these can, on occasion, overheat and melt. The idea is this chap heats up the crankcase vapours on their return for re combustion. The heater is located on the fresh air in hose/pipe close to the turbo (compressor side). You'll need to expose its wiring to check for any damage.

Yes the fuse had blown again. Took it out put another one in and unplugged the lead to that tube. Started the car for a few seconds then looked at the fuse. It was OK.
Plugged the lead back in and started the car again. The fuse has blown. We'll done you.👍👍

Volvo still supply the PTC, it is actually part of the air duct which I didn't know.

Glad to read you have isolated the issue.

I may be wrong here, Willi, but you may discover the heater itself isn't the issue but rather the insulation on its wiring has melted, over the years, leaving the copper cores exposed and therefore overloading the fuse. I think it would be wise to inspect as much of the wiring as physically possible before purchase and fitting of a new heater.
