Mine has died on me annoyingly twice in the two years that I have had it First time, HT lead fault, so I simply replaced the lot (cold, damp morning) Second time, fuse 6. Already been mentioned in this thread. Modern 'ceramic' fuses are plastic and over time they can shrink and then make intermittent contact - no contact = no fuel pumps = no go! Easy enough to resolve and probably worth changing more frequently than recommended intervals for reliability |

Success! Was the Crank Position Sensor as suggested. Bought one from Classic Swede and - after some contortionism and swearing - swapped the old one out to find the wire had melted through to reveal one of the wires. Thanks for the input

Can't remember off the top of my head but always gapped as per Volvo manual.

So 0.65 - 0.7mm then? I'm thinking if the gap was wide it could potentially cause arcing on the dizzy cap terminals, could also be weak HT leads allowing arcing to occur.
