And will be £310 surcharge + cost of road tax for up to year 6 on cars costing over £40,000.

It was always that based on my model (as base was above 40k since I started looking). But is a valid point.

I was pretty chuffed and excited Sunday - really deflated now!

This is hugely disappointing as the changes are pretty much irrelevant to me save for the front parking. Not enough to make me happy to pay the extra money albeit on a lease. Front sensors, VOC, cargo socket - £1115 increase vs £925 option. Unless I'm missing something? Saying that, I can see the first year tax has increased from £200 to £515 as well so could be that.
You might find the contract hire cost isnt affected as much as the residual should be higher. Worth a look. I wouldnt be without VOC lease or otherwise.

Tailored dashboard standard on Inscription now instead of just Pro derivatives. Would be nice if mine gets it 😁
Surprised they haven't put gearshift paddles on all models , even as an option. That Is one thing I am going to miss

I do hope this (higher residual) and it isn't as bad as it seems. I originally specc'd one up with VOC, winter II, smartphone and keyless but dropped all but winter on order as didn't feel the others were essential for me. I have carplay and keyless in my current vehicle but when I saw the costs listed in £pm I decided against it (even though I love keyless - but the keyless start seemed enough).

Dropping the 3 knocked £45pm off. Will see what happens anyway, just hope it isn't as bad as I fear.

Fingers crossed

Likewise, I asked the questions to the decision makers at the top several months ago but was told that they wished to keep the R-Design as the sporty line hence they would only have paddles by default, but like many of us here I also will miss my paddles so I wonder if a simple switch of wheels will work ...... as after all nothing else has changed and in most other countries the paddles are an option.

Still no firm decision on the T6 Powertrain, a range review will be undertaken soon with the “possibility” that it “may” be available from MY19.5.

Well I'm being called by the dealer at 11 this morning to discuss my options ('order'/deposit placed Sunday)

Hope this is not going to be too bad as was really excited about going for it but any increase is going to annoy me especially as it's for options I wasn't after. Just need to weigh everything up after the chat.

Any idea when the Volvo configurator will likely be updated?

My Inscription model's has Retail Price has gone up by £2000 since November and the On The Road price by £2365.

The option prices have remained the same, but VOC is now standard as is Front Park assist, the 12v socket in the cargo area and the tailored Instrument Panel.

Configurator still not updated, but you can build the new V60 model on it now!!

As much as I love my Volvo (and the brand) they could learn a lot from companies like Apple when it comes to product launches. When MY19 was “launched” on Monday you’d have thought a coordinated approach with brochure, configurator etc all going live at the same time would not be difficult.

I’m also on an XC40 forum (might be an option if space is adequate) and on the day of the official release (tonight) there are tales of First Edition orders now being closed in some parts of the country and later orders not getting full First Edition spec due to various reasons. Kind of spoils the big day when the first questions asked at launch is “am I getting what I thought I’d ordered?” or “yes, now I’ve seen it in the flesh I’ll have one.....sorry sir, First Edition sold out”. Will also be interesting to see if full XC40 configurator goes live tomorrow. I’m not holding my breath!

After 8 years of Volvo ownership I always find it amazing that the most uptodate information can be had through this forum/community....and it’s usually days/weeks ahead of the dealer network.

^^^

Ah crap - that was going to be my possible fall back, a First Edition XC40 as it has all the spec needed/wanted albeit I prefer the 60. I was going intending to pop into the dealers tomorrow post call to have a look.
