I'm 58 and am currently running a 2008 V70 2.4D auto and a 1998 V70 SE Tdi auto, although for the last few years my daily driver has been the works Fiesta van. Have to say the Fiesta has been far better than I thought it would be.

The 2008 V70 was bought as a replacement for the 1998 V70 when the cambelt failed. I ended up fixing it and keeping both!

When I was learning to drive, much of my practice was done on my Dad's 164; He's currently running a V60 and a 940 saloon.

I bought my first Volvo, a rather tired 122 in 1984 and since then have owned at various times:
a 145, a 245, a 260 estate, a 1.7 345, a 760 estate, a 440, an old style V40 and the two V70s mentioned above. Apart from 6 weeks with a Saab 96 with a prodigious thirst for oil, I've only ever owned Volvos.

My favourite to date is the V70 Tdi.

Hope this is of some interest.

Martin

Just a thought; is anyone coordinating all the replies on a spread-sheet by any chance? When I see how much interest that this thread has generated, I wish that I had done this from the beginning.

Regards, John.

Well, at 22 I'm one of the youngest here.

And what with my 240 Estate being 25 I think I'm one of few driving a Volvo older than me!

Oh, I guess the two Vauxhalls bear mentioning too, they've served me well.

I covered thousands of miles in v4 saabs and would have another in a heartbeat. Wonderful build quality, tremendous styling and huge fun to throw about.

45 here and drive a muchly loved 2002 S60 T5 manual, which is my 3rd Volvo.

Actually bought it cheap as a potential classic (long way to go I know lol) to restore and run as a weekend fun car. It's actually better than my 2010 Astra Sri in almost every way so I took the Astra off the road and now use the S60 all the time.
Next year I plan to take it off the road and get some work done to it, and also try keep the miles relatively low (at 121k at the moment).
I'd recommend a T5 to anyone as a solid all round performance car
