Amazon brake calipers
Hi,
Does anyone know whether the amazon front brake calipers have the same fitment across the 4 piston and the 3 piston set ups? I suspect so. If so, does anyone have an unwanted/seized etc caliper that I can trial fit on my Bristol please? I saw a lead that suggests they may fit. Thanks a lot. dave

Hello Dave, you can't interchange them.
different position of the screws to mount them. I know nothing about the possible corelation between Bristol and any Volvo. regards, Kay |

Thanks Kay, that's helpful.
That means I need a four piston caliper to try on my Bristol. Anyone got one? Thanks, d

Hi Dave
You could go onto Brake Engineering’s website and look up the part number for the Amazon4 pot calliper then cross reference it to find out what other vehicles had the same Cali per I don’t know what is making me say this, but I have something telling me that the 4 potcaliper was same as on an old Sherpa

I also remember seeing that about Sherpa calipers but the mounting holes need opening out slightly. Also think Scimitar GTE are the same.

Thanks all. I had no luck on the brake engineering site cross referencing..all I could find was Sherpa no's, no Volvo or Reliant/scimitar bits. That Sherpa tip rings a bell though.. I am getting more infor from some Bristol peeps at present, hopefully will know more soon. Just trying to improve the brakes on the old Bristol without spending rude money on average brakes.

I've got a rusty pair of the later calipers, in fact still attached to a complete '69 crossmember...
Can't imagine that it wouldn't make more sense to use it complete as a boat anchor on this side of the pond than send the calipers to your side.
