Default Retrofit Volvo reversing camera V60

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has had the official Volvo reversing (backup?) camera fitted? If you have any ideas on the cost, does it work the same as the factory fit ones i.e. shows where the car will go with steering wheel input not just static lines - does it work with the park assist sensors at the same time?

thanks in advance,

It can be done, its quite involved mind.

If its done with a Volvo kit it will work as it does from the factory complete with bendy lines

http://accessories.volvocars.com/en-gb This site always gives you a good idea what you can get

Depending on how your car left the factory depends on what needs to be done, also, not sure if its the same with V60's but for some reason some R-Design V40's cannot have a reversing camera fitted.

Any idea if it’s easy (cost) to do on an xc60 MY17 as reversing to a trailer is a challenge.........

Thanks for the info - your right it looks like quite a bit of work to fit oneself!

Just to be clear the £450ish would be just for the equipment right?

Do you know what it would be fitted at the dealer?

thanks

If it is the same as the v70/xc70 they are not fitted at the factory but are dealer fit (like towbars, etc). If you google a recent pricelist (latest 'old' model), the stated price for the camera in the options list will be close to what they cost now fitted from a dealer.
There may be a little bit of a difference due to Brexit though, because the cameras come from Swedish stocks at current exchange rates. (They do for the xc70 at least).

There is a kit here https://www.volvotech.eu/vbb5-lplc?m...-path%5B115%5D

However fitting is going to be £100+ so £600 ball park? Is it plug and go into the loom or is it pulling lots of panels off and lots of faff?

I struggled with the cost of front sensors and towbar but solo hitching is awkward..... more money!

If you go to the accessories.volvocars.com website and choose your vehicle you can see what is available for your car. Click on services (at the top) you will see option for fitting instructions.

It looks as if there may be a factory preparation option for the v60 which allows quite simple installation. If yours doesn't have it then it looks similar to the xc70 install and takes over 2hrs (21 time units if I recall correctly)

Instructions for v60 without variant 2g04:
