Yea I was trying to do that too, follow wires to make sure they're okay and stuff because I really didn't want to spend anymore money on it haha, it's costing me enough recently haha. I've ordered a replacement motor and that should come tomorrow so I'll get it on and see if that resolves the issue and ready for the weekend when I need the car again, if it doesn't resolve it I can always take it back

the signal wire has 11.6 volts going to it when the key is turned
IF you mean the red wire between bat and starter 11.6v must be enough.
In that case mechanical issues inside or brushes used and not touching a sufficent surface to let the current flow.
If you give it a light smash(hihi) with a heavy hammer no results?

the 11.6 volts was the signal wire that goes to the solenoid when the ignition key is turned, the main wire from battery to starter has 12.54 volts too it.

When the key is turned there is voltage to the wire and it makes a clicking noise but just won't go so I'm guessing its something fairly internal, I did drive through some deep water at Christmas time and thinking now this is something to do with it.

I haven't looked at it anymore but I've ordered a replacement which should be here tomorrow so will get that on, if no difference I can take it back.

So the starter motor came today along with the position sensor, popped them both on, didn't take very long at all and everything seems to be fine!! I tried starting it about 4 times and it fired right up, no hesitation, I'm hoping its not just a fluke but so far so good!! She is also idling now too so the sensor worked a treat!!

thanks for your help and recommendations!! as much as I really didn't want to hear it was the starter motor I'm glad its sorted, thanks again!!
