Default 740 Estate Headlining Board/Biscuit & Sunroof Panel

If anyone is in the Midlands/Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire area and needs a 740 estate headlining backing board or "biscuit" as they call them in the trade then I know of one as removed it myself as needed the sunroof mechanism and cartridge from the vehicle.

I am not breaking a 740 myself before anyone asks. It will need recovering as they always do but this is a DIY job and the off white scrim fabric can be bought from Woollies trim or the like.

Occasionally you see an estate where the headlining has sagged and some twonk has just ripped the whole headlining out including the backing board and it is probably hard to get a decent backing board nowadays so I hope someone can benefit before this one gets damaged and then junked.

It would have to be collected in a 740 estate or a van as too fragile to courier.

I have the 740 interior sunroof panel if anyone needs one of those, bit grubby but not ripped.

I assume it's free to collect?

I was in my Metro so did not buy the headlining biscuit so had no means of transporting it otherwise I would, I left it in the back of the 740 being broken at the scrappie, I mentioned it as it will get trashed the next time some twonk turns up wanting bits from the interior which seems a shame.

It's just the biscuit that is of use, the headlining material is pillowing and grubby so definitely needs recovering. No pictures, but the board was not warped or sagging, it would need reinforcement repairs around the weakspot either side of the sunroof aperture where it is thinnest, but I had to do the same on my 760 biscuit, just use some fibreglass matting and resin.

As it is at a scrappie it would not be for free I'm afraid, I should imagine he'd let you have it for a tenner and there are plenty of other odds n sods you could buy like rear headrests, doorcards in black as the interior is still complete - but's its a turbo diesel with 200K+ so the driver's seat is ripped. It's the 1990 "GL" or "SE" type fabric.
